On August 21, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met with the delegation of members of the European People’s Party faction in the European Parliament from Germany that arrived in Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction the strengthening cooperation between the parliamentary structures of Uzbekistan and the European Union in the context of positive dynamics of interaction in “Uzbekistan – EU” format.
Over the past year alone, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, visited Uzbekistan twice and held fruitful negotiations with the leadership of the country. Contacts at other levels, including between business circles, representatives of state and non-state organizations, education, culture and art spheres have also significantly intensified.
At the meeting, concrete proposals were made on holding bilateral events, as well as views were exchanged on other issues of the joint agenda, international and regional issues.
